Recently I often eat this noodle dish from Thailand. It's easy to cook, healthy, and tasty. Doesn't it sound good for breakfast?
Tom Yum Goong is well known as a fragrant and spicy speciality of Thai cuisine. It is usually eaten as soup dish, but sometimes with rice noodles. One day I found an instant noodle kit at a supermaket in Tokyo, and I bought it and tried; It was sooo good. Since then I've been addicted to it. Inside the package, there are pouches of rice noodle, powdered soup stock and dried heab flakes, all I have to do is to prepare hot water, boil the noodle for 4min, dissolve the soup stock powder and season with the heab, then top with some vegetables as my choice. That's it. I can enjoy the famous, nice and warm noodle dish in a morment. I thank the company "Ajinomoto" who manufacture this product. It's really handy and well made. (Ajinomoto sell this product as a part of their Asian Noodles series; Vietnamese, Chinese, Taiwanese noodle dishes are also available, but i think this Thai Tom Yum Noodle is the best so far.)
Are you worried if it's too hot and spicy? No need to. It is adjusted to preference of Japanese consumers, so it's light and mild, not hot at all, but still preserves unique citrus kind flavor of the original Thai dish. Since I am addicted to it, I think I should buy this product by a business use carton and export it to my Brooklyn home (just to consume personally at home!)
The photo below is my presentation of "Ajinomoto Asian Noodle Series: Tom Yum Noodle". It is topped with peeled tomatoes, chopped Mizuna (Japanese crispy green leaf), pieces of steamed chicken breasts and a couple of slices of lime. YUMMY! Doesn't it look like a heathy dish?
